Re: Happy Friday Pedro Picture Post everyone!
Hello Post Moved to all Porschephytes,
I am
a new to this Board and with Pedro's invite, I am happy to be a part of this great group of Porsche owners!

I live in Boynton Beach, Florida and have a 1999 Carrera Cabriolet, type 996 (the Porsche with the engine going the wrong way) and have +141K miles on the clock. I'm the second owner of this great car, purchased on E-bay, Christmas of 2001 and have been a Gold Coast Region-PCA member since February, 2002. My car's name is Hans Flick. In formal circles he is "Herr Flick" (a small American joke!)

I think I've known Pedro since 2007 when I first met him at one of our AutoX / Social events. He told me about his business, Pedro's Garage, and I have since been to his "Garage" many time for repairs and up-grades since 2009. Pedro knows my car very well and has the scars from cuts and contusions to prove it!

This is my first Porsche and my wife and I really enjoy it very much. In the past, she had bought new, a 1968 VW Karmanghia Convertible, Canary yellow/black/black interior and called it "Sunshine!" I think she is reminded each time we go driving in Hans of her old Ghia!

Years ago, back home in Prairie Village, Kansas, I owned new, a 1966 Corvette 300hp/327cid. Convertible. I AutoXed the 1966 Vette to Class Championship in 1967, 1968 and 1969. In 1968 I was invited to join a special "Invitational" club in Kansas City called Group 44 (this was before the British race team Group 44.) This club was only for Sports Car Class Winners in the KC area, 44 members total, who would represent Kansas City's AutoX clubs in other City/State sports car events. I mention this, because one of the "special" once-a-year
topic: Question: St. Louis-PCA past events I fondly remember was a big Speed event at "Mid-America Raceway TracPark" in Wentzville, Missouri. The Porsche Club of St. Louis was the host club that put this great event each year that I attended. I was there in 1967 and again in 1968 as a Representative for Group 44. The event was on the old 3.5? mile race course which had "slowing" chicane boxes at the approach of each high-speed turn to insure all cars would survive. The final section of track to the finish line, a one mile run with a small half-mile climb up a hill onto a half-mile straightaway to a pedestrian bridge where you were suppose to make a controlled stop. HOLY S@#*! I remember my old '66 Vette pushing towards the maximum of 5500rpm at 135mph before hitting the brakes 800 feet before the ped bridge. WOW, what a rush! In 1967, I went home with a second place class trophy. At the tender age of 18, I thought auto racing must be in my DNA. This was as much fun as sex ... maybe better! I came very close to going of to Driving School and getting a Racing License, but as it turned out my Father had other plans to deter my adventures.

I would like to ask if there are any Porschephytes from the St. Louis area or abouts, out there, who might have experienced the track at Wentville, MO and the Porsche Club of St. Louis like I remember.

Best to all,
Spyder 517
