Anyone tiptronic owners with this particular experience ?
The car drives fine, but clearly something is not right.

The selector cable was replaced about 2 years ago.

Your Tiptronic control module has gone into the Limited Driving Program due to an electrical or electronic fault. I'm not sure if a Durametric system can diagnose this, you may need access to a PST II/PIWIS.............

It may come back, but it cleared up after driving it for about five miles.
Doesn't seem to have any noticeable difference...blinking or not.

I'd still check the system out, Tips can go very expensive on you if you don't pay attention to them. If memory serves, they retain code info....

Just putting note here as an observation, not as the root cause.

The Drive Light blinking problem has been intermittent. It would clear up for a few and come back.
A week ago, the battery started acting up...a few cranks before starting.
Yesterday, it finally kicked the bucket...it was almost seven years old :-)

When we jumped the car to get it to Sears to pick up a new battery, we noticed the blinking Drive Light.
Put in a new battery, started up the car... no blinking Drive Light.

Perhaps related, perhaps not.
Will update later if the blinking comes back.
