This seems to be the trend.

Starting in 2013, F1 car engines will be limited to 1.6 liter four cylinder turbo charged engines to use 35% less fuel.

i gave up on F1 last season. just not interesting to me anymore with all the stupid rule changes every year. one set of tires. one tank of gas. ughh.
