Turn Signal Issue
JTK San Diego - Saturday, 11 December, 2010, at 12:50:26 pm
First, thanks to Pedro for resurrecting the board!

Recently, when I use my turn signal for a left turn (doesn't seem to be an issue when turning right) I get a static like sound and no flashing directional arrow in the dash. If I jiggle or reactivate the stalk it will usually act normally, but it still seems somewhat unstable. Is this a contact issue in the stalk or a relay problem or something else? Hopefully, it's a problem that I can correct easily without visiting a professional. Any suggestions would be welcome. Oh yeah, it's a MY '98.

Thanks in advance.

Don't know, but at least check the light bulb. Good luck.
hand turn signal started acting up -- blinking rapidly, then blinking at the normal speed and with one (I can't recall know when end) bulb dark then the next time working just fine -- and a tech when I had the car in for something else graciously checked the car out and found some marginal connections. A new bulb (cause the bulb's connector end compromised) and some cleaned connectors in the bulb holders and all is well again.

Relay proved to be not the problem.

Sincerely,

MarcW.
