hesitating litronics head lamps

Hey all,

Twice, when I turn on my headlamps, there has been about a 5 second delay. Is this a symptom that something is going wrong?

You made it painfully aware to me that I really need to think, just a little, before I write! Yup, it definitely is a symptom that something is going wrong smileys with beer
Are they factory Lits, or installed post delivery? *NM*

Factory Lits have one major advantage.............

A PST II/PIWIS unit can do diagnostics on them to see what is going on...........

before the headlights come to full brightness.

I could imagine in cold weather with perhaps (a wag) that a weakened battery could extend this out some. My Turbo had a weak battery -- checked ok but after the car sat a few hours Porsche tech retested the battery and found it down on power by around 40% -- but I do not recall any headlight behavior changes. I do remember the slow cranking which caused me to suspect what proved to be a dying battery.

Sincerely,

MarcW.

Doesn't get too cold here in SoCal

But I bought it in AZ, so the car may think it's cold!

The light switch is a good possibility, I'll keep that in mind if/when it happens again

Thx
