I got the TSB last night. There is no change to recent 96 lb-ft specs.

All new 997/987/991/981 effective 2012 changed to 118 lb-ft / 160 n-M

There is no ratonale given whatsoever.

Many dealer service managers are clueless about any and all of this. Apalling.

So, if you had a 2011 987 your torque setting is 96 lb-ft and if you have a 2012 987 it is 118 lb-ft..; hmm.....

I think your earlier comment on the center locking hub issue might be correct.

Can see that newer cars may have bolts which may be different, but pretty confident that not changing the settings for a 12 year old Boxster now would not have any adverse effect on safety.
