the throttle stuck. If so I guess in the excitement he didn't think about shutting off the engine.

The test with the video suggests that the throttle stuck. Umm, No clutch?

Something is wrong; there is too short a lead in for him to be accelerating that fast. I suppose it could be WOT.

Still, once he felt it, why would ne just put both feet in?

IU wondered the samae thing, but had two thoughts

1. not much time, difficult turn, a bit of panic.....
2. if i was about to hit something hard, i would neither want my hands nor feet on the wheel or firewall - better to hit safely at 90 mph than rigidly at 70 mph
