Window Troubleshooting

Put in my new regulator. I'm trying to see if there are any issues with it when I raise and lower the Window. I'd like to do it with the door panel off. Can that be done without screwing up anything with the airbag system as there is a bag in the door? I'm thinking maybe I could disconnect the battery and take apart the entire door like a normal repair, but then just reattach the airbag, reconnect the battery and test things out.
