12k to oil change per the "experts"

Apparently, "[a] 2008 Porsche Boxster can go 12,000 miles between changes". How interesting! Anyone care to try it?

I think if you read the owner's manual, it's 12,000 miles or a year, which ever comes first. Actually, if I'm not mistaken, my '02 Boxster said 15,000 miles or once a year, which ever came first. Since I only drive my car about 7,000 miles per year, I'd always hit the annual mark first.

My manual says, "every 10,000 miles or one year". I plan on doing it every 5k or so.

Driving a new-to-me '09S in Aqua Blue Metallic. It does .5 past light speed. I made the Kessel run in less than 12-parsecs.
Motto: If you have your top up, that storm outside had better have a name!
Motto 2: Having the top up on a convertible is an oxymoron. Don't be a (oxy)moron.
And most Boxsters with infrequent use or short trips or heavy traffic are not considered "normal". Now if you go 50 miles every day between work and home on country roads in moderate temperatures....
