... we tried all sorts of chemicals, such as denatured alcohol, acetone, goo gone, etc.
But in the end, the easiest and most effective is to spray paint over them with a satin Black for Plastics aerosol.

I used denatured alcohol on mine with a lot of elbow grease. Or, you can buy stickers that cover them up (check fleabay). Or, you can find European visor covers without the stickers (check Suncoast Porsche parts).

Is "Jules," who made vinyl covers, still around?

I did a Google check and didn't find him, but he used to make covers for the warnings that face inward with the visors up. When applied properly with thinned silicone, they looked pretty good.

I bought my cover ups on Ebay, but here is a website that has the same cover ups.

After removing with mineral spirits you will always see a slight shiny rectangle where it was. If money is no object buy the European visors.

A couple years ago, I bought thin black adhesive cover-ups that were/are perfect.

Found them on eBay. The seller was in Newfoundland.

I may have more info at home, but I'm away for a couple weeks.
