For 981 owners ...

... you asked for it (I think), so here it is.
Behold the TechNOwind for the 981, just as you are used to it, in CLEAR polycarbonate.

[pedrosgarage.com]

Here's the comparison between the mesh and the clear lexan

[i83.photobucket.com]

If your car already has the restrictive mesh, you just need the clear insert which comes with its protective bag.

[i83.photobucket.com]

If your car did not come with the wind screen, we can supply the complete DIY kit which includes the frame, gasket, insert and protective bag.

[i83.photobucket.com]

The TechNOwind is manufactured using Makrolon, the high-tech polycarbonate from Bayer MaterialScience.
Makrolon is lightweight, break-resistant, and non-splintering.
It is resistant to impact and weathering and withstands high and low temperature extremes.
The parts are precision cut using a digitized file and a laser table, then the exposed edges are bull-nosed for safety and esthetics.
We have them in limited quantities and wanted to offer it to PB members first.
If interested, please contact me directly: Pedro@PedrosGarage.com or 954-385-0330.
Happy Boxstering,
Pedro

Even Laz may pop for one, and I know how tight he is with a buck. winking smiley

Did he ever donate to the Board by purchasing a PB cap?

Orange. Wore it all over the country.

And after three weeks of hotels including the Mr. C in Beverly Hills, I've gotta get a little tight! By the way, you ought to order one of these new windstops as an incentive for buying a better Boxster than the one you have now!

Looks like a thumbs up on that one Pedro

That should help improve that rearward vision compared to the thick frame on the mesh.
Also, even though it looks matte, the mesh reflects the sky, etc. I guess it's because part of the weave's curvature (in cross-section) reflects light from above into the rear view mirror.

... TechNOwind there's no rearview obstruction whatsoever.
I designed it after the original which had no top frame which would restrict view.
Also, it's night and day between the mesh and the clear.
I'm very happy with the finished product.
Happy Boxstering,
Pedro

It will max out what an owner can do, short of removing the roll bar covers. The biggest issue is the height of the new trunk (and top, even down,) which messes mostly with the three-quarter view. Merging from the left into traffic at a fork, or a cloverleaf entrance into a left lane often has me doing a facciamo la croce.

Looks really good! Somene else try it and give us a report. I am never an "early adopter" - but will definitely think about this as soon as I hear some real life experience.

Looks like a good job, Pedro. You should sell a bunch of those.

I love it. The stock piece (the net thingy) was my only complaint with the car. I have placed my order! "Progress" isn't always a good thing...
