I have felt lost without the board whether I was reading or participating. The other forums around are okay but the old one was special as I'm sure this one will be.

Driving down Saturday the 27th from the cold of New York to my winter home in Boynton Beach. The Box (my baby) is already in the garage having sent it down 3 weeks ago. I have made it a point to go over to visit Pedro and hopefully other Florida board members.

Hi All

Great to see a new community developing with the spirit of the old PPBB.

Love to see no religion and politics in the rules.

Getting ready to read about my favorite cars and post once in a while.

Thanks Pedro!!

Note I think that PPBB should be added to the spell checker dictionary!

It's great to be back. I've even got a new handle which better reflects my location.

It was -27C with a windchill of -40C/F here this morning. A bit nippy.

PS. Love the spell check.
So, Alex, at those temperatures, I guess you're just about ready to trade in your shorts for long pants and maybe even consideing putting the top up on the Boxster. grinning smiley

You're right, Robert. I draw the line at -5C (23 F for the southerners), after that it's just too chilly to have the top down. grinning smiley
He has a couple off businesses here in Edmonton with offices in Vancouver. He keeps a couple of Porsches at each location. He drives top down year-round. even at the temperatures we are now getting. He's the former president of our local PCA branch (aptly named Polar) and still holds a position on the executive. Since most of us put our cars away in the winter, he calls us wussies. Compared to him, I guess we are. He just bought a gorgeous white Boxster Spyder. My guess is that the top will never go on.

Alex
Guenter, I just recently put on my long pants.smiling smiley
Alberta Alex - Wednesday, 24 November, 2010, at 6:32:34 pm
The top is up and the car is now in winter hibernation. Since I have a plastic window ('01) I don't put the top down below +5C. However, if it's colder than that and the top is already down, I'm good to go. I love driving around the city when it's below zero with the top down. Not only is the car comfy with the heater and seat warmers, I enjoy the stares of disbelief I get from the non-enthusiasts. I just grin and wave.

Yes, the top is up on mine now too and I've also traded the shorts in on long pants. We did have some nice days with the temps just below freezing a couple of weeks ago. I drove my wife to work and put the top down as soon as I dropped her off. It really is nice and comfortable around town when there is no wind. I just had the heater on and didn't even need the bun warmer on. Felt great to be driving along surrounded by frost covered cars and only I could enjoy the nice sunshine. smiling bouncing smiley

Mine's been snoozing since Monday.

Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Wednesday, 24 November, 2010, at 11:31:24 am
Thank you very much, Pedro. I needed this board after the last week . I was supposed to be on a month long cruise but my wife fill and broke her femur near the hip in Tunis last week. Just got back after spending a week following her surgery. I have been sleeping sleeping in a Tunisian hospital on a sofa the entire time. What a frustrating week - hardly anyone spoke any English and my high school French is very rusty - but we are back!

Boxster & Porsche content - I was amazed how many high dollar cars I saw in Tunisia (we were in the "Beverly Hills" of Tunisia - Marsa). I saw several Ferrari's, Bentley's, RRs, a couple of Turbo Porsches and a very nice looking black 987.

Good to be back!

Thanks again, Pedro!
