Our Friends North of the Border, Porsche is Dropping Prices
db997S - Friday, 7 January, 2011, at 10:43:43 am
According to today's Globe and Mail, on average, prices will go down $5,200 ($7,200 with basic options). The Turbo S by $16,600, a Panamera S will drop by 10%, and the base Boxster will now start at $54,900. The 911 GT2 RS will see the biggest drop of $17,500 with a base price coming in at $279,000. This new pricing is said to be for transparency over Porsche's so-called "currency credits" it was using on those in the Great Frozen Tundra.

Wow, and option prices will drop by 16% with floor mats and hands-free Bluetooth coming as standard. Just think, the other day ya'll (that's how we say you all south of the boarder) were complaining about no posters up north. Think lower prices is a fair trade, no?

The new prices were on the Porsche Canada website a few days ago already.

So the Boxster (non S) now starts at $54,900 CDN The US price is $48,100 US. Then figure in that the Canadian dollar is worth just a hair more than the US dollar. confused smiley You can buy a lot of blue teeth for the difference. I fried my calculator trying to figure that one out. winking smiley

I still want my posters.

Well, they are dropping prices here in Australia by..... damn all.
Base Boxster is $114,950 which with the $A on parity with the $US, would break your American & Canadian hearts.
No wonder there's not many Aussie members to the Porsche websites, you have to be a virtual millionair to be able buy a new one.....
Who the heck wants to buy a new one? Get an 03 or 04 roller, put in a Raby special, and you're further ahead for way less money!
