Article also states: "The company is also working on a sports-car line above the 911."

That's supposed to be their challenge to the F-car. Think in the $250K range.

My guess is a car similar to the 918 without the hybrid technology in the $250,000 range to challenge the 458.

Don't think the hybrid technology is worth that much of a premium (to delete it and get the price down to $250K), besides, I don't think Porsche would do that to those who purchase the 918, to sell a car so similar for so much less money. Yes, the Cayman and the 911 are similar, but the price differential is not in multiples. Most likely mid-engine, but maybe front like the 928, as speculation was Porsche was looking to bring back that sort of car into the fold.

Any chance the same company that manufactures the batteries for the 918 also supplies the Boeing 787 Dreamliner?hot smiley

Still no official cause. Just a bunch of belts and suspenders fixes that are supposed to detect issues earlier, mitigate thermal runaway if it happens, etc.

FWIW, NiCads had the same kinds of issues when they were introduced. And today they are poster children for safe batteries.
No, that would be Sony.
