boxster hardtop repaint
boxsterd - Wednesday, 2 October, 2013, at 2:00:15 am
I'm having a bit of a problem finding an arctic silver hardtop. I did find an ad for a black hardtop at a reasonable price.

What do people think about buying it and repainting it arctic silver?

Any idea of the cost? Anyone have experience doing something like this?

Thanks

Had a gaurds red top painted arctic silver then again to GT silver when I changed cars. It cost around $400. That was back in '00. and '04.

How did it turn out? Did it look OEM?

This is the hardtop that was red and then arctic silver and finally GT silver.

Since your current top is likely black, have you considered just leaving a hardtop black? If you really don't like it, I can't imagine having it painted would be that expensive, specially if you can get a used one for a reasonable price.

1. paint it a contrasting color
2. paint it the matching arctic silver

and

1. take it to a pint shop who can match it easily
2. use a rattle can, especially if you use a contrasting color
