AOS R&Rsmileys with beer

OMG.....

I just removed and replaced the AOS on my wife's 2000 Boxster - good grief! I think I set the record for the longest AOS R&R - 4 hours...

Just wanted to share that with you - if you plan on doing this I recommend changing the bottom clamp that secures the flex hose to a regular clamp. The factory clamp is a bear to get to and there is minimal room to maneuver - I felt I was in the blind - touchy feely.

Well, at least I did and now to see if it helps with the white smoke coming out of the car on start up.

Good night.

Having done several of these...

I would suggest that the easiest way to deal with the clamp is to get a pair of locking spring clamp pliers (~$10 from sears). The spring clamp is nice because you basically just position the clamp (with attached pliers) and let the clamp go. Tightening a screw clamp is not easy and you're never sure you have the right tightness. The spring clamp is always exactly correct.
