Well it lights up but it don't make no noise.
DLR says $175 if it just needs to be reset, 2K to replace.

Have to take it back to the dealer in few days
cause I am not sure about the brakes after
they did the fluid renewal. Wish I lived closer to Pedro.

Could be loose optical connection somewhere in the fiber optic loop.

Might be worth having someone look through the front trunk, amp, etc.

Could also try a battery reset - remove power completely from the car for 10 minutes, then reconnect.

Wait for Pedro to weigh in on this.

If you get the bad news from the dealer, I have a cdr-24 for sale from my 2007 987 that I used only for 6 months.

I never noticed you replaced your radio, what did you put in ? I'm considering do have mine replaced as well.

Did you get the speaker changed as well ?

Just changed the radio to a touch screen Clarion and a Audison Sr4 amp, no speaker change.

Did you have to rewire the head unit to the amp, basically bypassing the MOST wiring?

Is the CDR-24 new to the car? Does it show "Porsche Protected"?

Since the MY2003 9X6 cars were introduced they have had the MOST fiber optic bus linking the radio, telephone,
CD player and the CAN bus together in an unholy alliance which makes updating the audio system nearly impossible.

One other thing the MOST bus does is eliminate the need for the radio code to enable it's use. The radio now has to "shake hands" with the instrument cluster where the radio code is permanently stored. Thus, you never have to worry about re-coding the radio following a power interruption. The down side is if your radio is new to the car .(read instrument cluster) you will need to have a PST-2 or PIWIS run the "Sports Car Handover" routine to get the radio to work. The Sports Car Handover routine is normally used to wake-up cars when they arrive at the dealer.

It's not new to the car, it is an original Bose audio system that has been working
fine for the 5 months that I have owned the car.

I looked around the amp for any loose wires like Eric suggested, looked OK.

Also, there is a 10 amp fuse on the back of the unit that I believe will disable the whole thing if it blows (but maybe not) that is worth checking since it's so easy to do.

So, I did a search, just had my radio go out and am looking for answers. It turned on, it all looks like it is on, changes stations, volume goes up and down, etc but no sound. I thought I heard a 'clicking' sound from behind the firewall area, maybe a relay there, or the amp, or something? It's a 2007 987 S, CDR 24 with Bose, if that helps.

My outcome, which I never posted, sorry.

Dealer re-installed software for $165; Problem Solved.
Hobiedog, I had less functionality than you..it lit up but that's it.
The dealer in testing my unit ( a Bose like yours) ran a diagnostic
program and it showed my amplifier as good. Good luck, hope you find that
easy(cheap) fix.

1. first, consider a hard reset. Pull the fuse for 60 seconds, re-insert. Tes.
2. If you have light, change stations, etc ( as i read below), but no sound, it may be the amp. If its the amp, figure out if its an amp problem, a power problem, or an issue with remote turn-on. Most amps turn on with a signal from the preamp ( part of the head unit)
