I drove a 700HP 911 this morming...

It was spectacular. Very different than the Boxster, obviously. My buddy has a race prepared 930 with all kinds of modifications. It was up to 140 before you knew it. The car scared me, I'd need a lot of time behind the wheel to get used to it.

700HP 930? That's crazy. I believe the standard (unmodified) 930 had a nickname, "widow maker", because it could be so "deadly" if the driver didn't know what he was doing.
Of all of my Porsches, the 930 ...

... was the one I liked the least.
A 1987 white cab with red interior.
Beautiful car, but horrible turbo lag and then uncontrollable power.
I only kept it 3 months and traded it for a 914-6.
That's one of the reasons why, to this day, I'm not a fan of turbos.
I know they've come a long way and today's turbos are very progressive and controllable and produce tons of power, but...
... IMNSHO there's still no replacement for displacement.
I know Porsche, like most other car manufacturers, will go the small displacement -turbo'ed route in the future, so my last Boxster will probably be a 2012 one.
Happy Porsche-ing,
Pedro

Racecar spelled backwards is Racecar

"Racing is life. Anything before or after is just waiting" ... Steve McQueen as Michael Delaney in "LeMans"

"If you wait, all that happens is that you get older"... Mario Andretti

"Being second is to be the first of the ones who lose" ... Ayrton Senna
