A stereo shop in so cal used to upgrade the 986 stereos.

Has anyone tried to replace one of the four 6 ohm 3.5" speakers used in the 986 rear deck speaker kits? One of my 4 experienced trauma, and I can find no sources for one anywhere. 4 ohm speakers abound, but not 6.

get a part number and go to the manufacturer.

In fact, I have his system in my car. He changed out all 6 speakers and added an equalizer and amp. Pm me if you want his contact info. Perhaps he has stockpiles of the 6 ohm speakers or he can assist you otherwise.

i will check around to see if I kept the oem speakers that were switched out.i think not.

That's the way to go. The Porsche stuff is cheap paper cones, nothing special other than a 'bose' name on it. Nice cones are available, but you get to enjoy putting them in…

This summer, I plan on a double-din replacement for the Becker CR22. Can't wait...

Including the 4 rear, 2 door and 2 dash.
