I have a Workshop Manual but I don't have an index. Does anyone here know what Porsche's numbering system or group system is? For example, Mercedes-Benz has used a Group System at least since WW2; Group 42 is Brakes, Group 68 is interior, etc. In their case the same system applies to the Parts Catalog too. It would be really (!) helpful when sorting through the nearly 4,000 pagessmiling smiley. I have figured out that the various jobs have a WM number, WM130xxx applies to cooling system jobs, for example. Anyone have any experience?
In the 986 and 996 Shop Manuals, and Parts Manuals (PET) Porsche uses:

Group 0 - Diagnosis
Group 1 - Engine
Group 2 - Fuel / Exhaust
Group 3 - Transmission (Manual & Automatic)
Group 4 - Running Gear
Group 5 - Body
Group 6 - Body Exterior
Group 7 - Body Interior
Group 8 - A/C & Electrics
Group 9 - Circuit Diagrams

Happy Porscheing,
Pedro

Racecar spelled backwards is Racecar

"Racing is life. Anything before or after is just waiting" ... Steve McQueen as Michael Delaney in "LeMans"

"If you wait, all that happens is that you get older"... Mario Andretti

"Being second is to be the first of the ones who lose" ... Ayrton Senna
