Why would Porsche introduce a special edition and only offer it on the base models?

Porsche offers the 981 GTS - More HP and more aggressive styling
Porsche offers the 981 Spyder - Even more HP, the styling evolution of the Spyder
Porsche offers the Black Edition- Nope Nothin

Does the black edition offer anything that couldn't be spec'd on either the base or an S?

I think the Black Editions are usually cosmetic packages / equipment bundles. Tulio Pianegonda should be at BRBS with his 2012 Black Edition to check out in person. It is strange they don't offers this on an S.
