Baby Beck needs your prayers and good thoughts, especially next Monday morning when he will undergo open heart surgery at only one week old.
He was born with a congenital heart defect which needs to be repaired and then followed-up long-term.
He will be in the ICU hopefully through mid December and it will be the best Christmas ever when we have him home!

Pedro, we have a now 20 year old granddaughter that had this early life surgery. Thinking of you, your family and your grandchild.

... Baby Beck's surgery has been postponed one day and will now be performed on Tuesday.
His cardiologists have diagnosed a second issue with his heart.
Thanks so much to each and every one who has offered their prayers, contribution and/or support.
It is immensely appreciated by our family and means the world to us.
I'll keep you posted as things progress.

He'll be as strong and determined as his grandfather, and will come through the surgery with flying colours.

... the surgery just ended (6 hrs).
The surgeon just debriefed us and all went as he expected.
Now it's all up to Baby Beck.
Thanks to all who prayed and sent their good wishes. It worked.

Great news and congratulations to you, your wife, and the proud parents. Beautiful baby!

You may recall from when we met you that my wife, Ellen, has been a NICU nurse for 30 plus years. She's seen and knows alot. Email or PM me if you ever have any questions or just want to run something by her.

They are so dedicated and caring with their little patients.
They probably also know more than most doctors.
Both of my sisters are MDs and they give the highest praise for the NICU nurses.
We're very thankful that Beck got the best care by the best in their field.
I'm sure that with the help of his NICU staff he will be home for Christmas.

Great news and prayers for a speedy recovery and a long, healthy life!

I just heard from my son.
After just one day post-surgery they removed Becks breathing tube and started feeding him his mother's milk yesterday.
He did very well overnight and they're removing the three drainage tubes from his chest today.
It is even being considered to send him home this weekend!
We're all very happy about his progress and looking forward to having Beck at home with his big brother, mommy and daddy.
