And decided to buy a new key for $30 bucks from a guy who sold his Boxster but had an extra key he never used... Figured I'd replace shell on my key head. Is this an easy swap out?New key...

If you swap the shell to your current hard key, make sure that you get the RFID pill out of your old key head and replace it in the new one. Once you do that, everything should work fine. There should be pics in the archives here of where the pill is actually located in the key head if you can't figure it out just from looking at it.
