I have read that u gain another 5 hp,not sure about torque numbers but what i really need to know is the gain in the upper or lower rpms.
With an under drive pulley you don't gain HP, you loose less.
Driving the secondaries (A/C, Power Steering, Water Pump and Alternator) uses up some HP.
By under driving (running slower) you loose less power.

I think that was the secret power unit in Oldsmobile of the 50's. Not much for the shop by numbers people when you look at the 0 - 60 time.
