… finally got to see it in person.
Porsche of West Broward had it on hand at the LeMans viewing party this weekend.

This is a 718S.
From the side it looks good.

I did not like the in-your-face logo'ing on the back end.

Getting one star out of 5 is the nose.
It looks meek and cowardly, especially when compared to the GTS' in the background.

But what's really disappointing is the Subaru impression the car makes when the engine is running.

Oh, well, I'm sure it'll make up for it with the turbo.

Happy Boxstering,
Pedro

On Saturday I ventured to the Dealer to see the 718.
Boy oh Boy the salesmen just love it. What an improvement...power, the ride, new chiseled quarter panels.

Looks like they listened to Guenter in regards to the back screen...

Nice brake enhancements to stop all that extra power...said the salesmen..

Salesmen have no choice but to push it....YUCK

"A mile of highway will take you one mile. A mile of runway will take you anywhere."
....but aren't you missing the point? Think of all the gas you'll save ...provided you drive it on the German test circuit.

Sounds like I had a better day on Saturday with a fabulous drive down some great roads to the sound of the Symphony In Flat Six.
They'll have a GTS or other version in the wings, complete with a NA flat six.

Not if they are attempting to kill off a very slow selling model.....

"A mile of highway will take you one mile. A mile of runway will take you anywhere."
what the 781's maximum load capacity is...

...hmmmm I did not remember reading anything about "mother-in-law" seat as being an option on the 718.

Nah. It'll still sound like a Subaru. The real solution is below. (And I know I'm thinking outside the Box)

Spend a few (well about $5,500 CDN) dollars and get the Burmeister sound system and combine it with the SoundRacer [www.youtube.com] and it will sound like a sports car again.
A member of our local Porsche club found out too late that the car tends to pick up stones which produce paint chips in front of the rear wheels. Protective film should be applied before the car leaves the dealer.
The 987 came from the factory with clear protective film ahead of the back wheels.

Interesting that the newer models don't have it.
