I just made one of my rare trips to the local dealership for a repair and saw a guy getting tags on his brand new 718 Boxster.
First off, I have to say the car looks great, really. His was in Steve McQueen grey, which I think I'd go for, with a black interior and it really looks like a quality sports car. I think the "Porsche" branding on the back is not quite as elegant as it might be, but since my dream Porsche is a 964 convertible in 1990s drug dealer red, who am I to talk.
Then the sound. I went outside when he started it up and while it sounds different than six-cylinder models, I don't think it sounds bad and I think its something we'll all get used to -- especially since the car seems to be so superior in so many other ways to its predecessors.
I'd buy one.
