Proclip removal

I installed a Proclip for the Garmin Nuvi GPS on my 06 Boxster. After a year or so, I decided to go back to mounting it on the suction cup in the lower middle of the windshield, with the GPS resting on the dash.

The reason is that the left edge of the GPS was hidden by the steering wheel and I had to look around it to see where which lane I was supposed to be in and how far till the turn. It was distracting to have to peek around the wheel to see that information.

Now I want to remove the Proclip mount. The vertical edge is easy but the horizontal edge (with the adhesive) is stubborn, and I'm concerned about damaging the radio faceplate. Also, I only have one of the spreader tools. Has anybody removed a Proclip mount from a Boxster, and if so, any suggestions?

A bit more brute force did it. No problem.
