Trust the tire pressure gauge...?
MikeTZ - Tuesday, 22 February, 2011, at 10:20:30 am
Do you guys trust what your automatic tire gauge system shows you for tire pressure..? The reason that I ask is that over the weekend, I tried out 3 different cheap "pencil" type of tire gauges and all them read 3-4 pounds more per tire than what my system showed. Just wondered about the true accuracy of our boxster system...?

Trust, but verify

I use a digital gauge, but rely on the Porsche system to monitor when the pressure is lower in one tire vs the others. If the Porsche system routinely reads 34 pounds, and then i notice it drop to 33 or 32, I'll use my digital gauge to check and then add whatever is needed. As long as the right sides agree with the left sides, I'm happy.

I trust it in a way that it tells me if the pressure has changed. I too have different readings between the dash gauge vs a manual gauge. Get a good digital manual gauge set all your tires with the manual gauge and use the dash gauge a monitor.
