Got home from a trip last week and shut the car off for a few moments in the driveway, when I turned the car back on, my headlights would not work. The drivers side bulb will flicker on for a brief moment every few seconds but the passenger stays dark. Time for a new set of bulbs or could this be a ballast issue?

... first, determine if it is bad by swapping them.
If the same side flickers after you switch bulbs then swap the ballasts.
If the same side still flickers it could be the lights switch.

Racecar spelled backwards is Racecar

"Racing is life. Anything before or after is just waiting" ... Steve McQueen as Michael Delaney in "LeMans"

"If you wait, all that happens is that you get older"... Mario Andretti

"Being second is to be the first of the ones who lose" ... Ayrton Senna
Since both lights went out at the same time, wouldn't it most likely be the switch? It just seems highly unlikely that both sides would have bulb or ballast go at the same time. The only puzzling part is that the driver's side does flicker from time to time.
The secondary (parking) bulb could be flickering.
Hey guys, thanks for the responses. After doing some additional research, I came across a Pelican article regarding the light switch going bad. Went home and twisted the switch quickly through the positions a bunch of times and they are working again. Must be getting carbon deposits on the switch position, so I guess its time to buy a new switch...
