Anybody have experience with "Dr. Colorchip"?
atwnsw - Wednesday, 24 November, 2010, at 8:25:34 pm
I have a few minor paint chips and have always seen this company advertise in Porsche magazines.
There are 3 kits prices at $39, $49 & $59.
Are any of their kits worth it?
Which one, if any, should I get?

Any/all feedback would be appreciated...

Is there another option for paint chips which I should consider?

Thanks again Pedro for reviving the board.

Anthony

I had a kit that I used to considerable success on my '03S, Midnight Blue Metallic. Eventually, though, there was just so much road rash that I gave up trying to keep up with it all. On my new Box, I got the clear bra.

Anyway, the best value is actually the most expensive option, because you end up running out of the "blending solution" before you run out of the touch-up paint otherwise. At least I would have.

As I recall, most board members who've posted on Dr. Colorchip have been reasonably satisfied with it as well.

I have used Dr Colorchip extensively on SilverBox and found that it does a pretty darn good job. Here is a pre shot after applying and 'smearing' the paint per their directions.

and a post shot

from one of my applications. I have many more shots but the bottom line is that it works quite well and even in bright sun light looks good. It is very easy to use, especially if you follow their detailed directions. The paint is a perfect match since they ask you for your paint code when you place your order.

I have a 2000S Red and 2007 BMW328Xi Graphite. I have used the Dr. Color Chip on both and it works well. I would also recommend getting the $59 version.
