I haven't looked at Porsche pricing for a while, but looked at some figures between now and 10 yrs ago. Found it very interesting how they reversed course and made the Cayman cheaper than the Boxster now, and how the Macan is the cheapest Porsche in the whole lineup. One always tends to think that the little Boxster is always the bottom of the rung Porsche, but it isn't now. Also interesting how the base Carrera price went up so much relative to the Boxster/Cayman...

Base 911 Carrera in 2006: $71,300
Base 911 Carrera in 2016: $89,400

Base Boxster in 2006: $45,795
Base Boxster iin 2016: $56,000

Base Cayman in 2007 (first year of base model): $49,400
Base Cayman in 2016: $53,900

Base Macan in 2016: $47,500
Base Cayenne in 2016: $59,600
On a percentage basis, the Boxster and Carrera went up about the same--Boxster increase of 25% vs carrera of 22%. What is interesting, the Cayman went up only 9% during that time period.

I think it's the other way around: 25% for Carrera / 22% for Boxster, but yeah- similar. Wonder if the Cayman was not selling as well.
