The future Boxster platform, also the death of NA engines

Maybe it's just funky disguise cladding. Otherwise, it looks as though Porsche has trained its design sights the Mitsubishi Eclipse convertible.

Things appear to be going to h*ll in a handbasket, all in the name of 'efficiency'.

Notice the rendering of the 911 doesn't have the traditional round (VW Bug) headlights anymore, and instead bringing it in line with the rest of their line (Box/Cayman/Cayenne/Macan/Panamera). Will be interesting to see if they actually end up doing that. I'm over the turbo thing already, and am ok with it. Many cars today have turbos added to boost power without having to increase displacement. Yeah, it's not as nice as having a big ole N/A engine, but such is life, and the extra power is nice. What I'm dreading is if the manual tranny and the ICE goes away altogether, and we all end up driving battery powered cars.
