... and this time was Dan Gurney who passed away yesterday from pneumonia complications at the age of 86.
He was the first of only three drivers to score victories in each of the Formula 1, IndyCar and NASCAR Cup series. The other two are Mario Andretti and Juan Pablo Montoya.
Gurney began racing in 1955 and won in every racing series he attempted.
After racing for the most renowned brands, he formed his own team: All American Racers and manufactured his own car: The Eagle.
He was the first and only American who has won an F1 race in a car of his own design.

He has also been credited for starting the champagne spraying tradition at the winner's podium when he first won the 24 Hours of Le Mans, in 1967, driving the Ford GT-40.

RIP Dan Gurney.

"If you wait, all that happens is that you get older"... Mario Andretti
