chassis ears that record?

Hey folks - I have some suspension noises in a 2000 Boxster that I'm trying to isolate myself. I searched online for chassis ears type equipment, but could not find any that allowed one to record the sound for playback later/separately. Has anyone found something like this? If so please share details.
