What are several projects we could do without a trip/order for parts?

I plan to fix the black snow caused by the heater door deteriorating and I plan to (finally) track down the tiny oil leaks.

I will likely break out the clay bar and actually detail the car.

Other ideas to bide the time?
Extend the range of your remote
Clean debris from the front radiators
Clean the throttle body (suspect you already did that)
Lube the top mechanism
Clean your engine, especially any areas that have oily residue. Cleaning those areas will make it much easier to later see where the oil is coming from (power steering reservoir, oil tube seals, etc).
Check your brake pad and rotor thicknesses
Diagnostics on any engine codes you still have
Clean the inside of your wheels
Check for play in all of the pulleys (especially the water pump)
Apply hide food (or similar) to your seats
Check your radiator fans for proper operation (http://pedrosboard.com/read.php?7,45038,45038#msg-45038)
Check all of your water drains for debris
Apply raggtopp protection after cleaning and masking off the glass.
not familiar with that one.

The remainder seem logical.

I will definitely be cleaning the engine. It is a mess under there. No real leaks, but (I suspect) several areas of seepage.
The basic gist is that the antenna wire is wrapped up with a bunch of other electrical wires so it gets interference, which hampers the range. The basic fix is to pull off the A-pillar trim piece on the driver's side, unwrap the tape around the antenna wire, and pull out a length proportional to the wavelength of the remote (a couple of inches, roughly), then put it back together. It really is quite easy and makes a huge difference.

I'll see if I can dig up better instructions.
