I guess that was my point -- I just have been so very happy with my 987 since I got it. The only improvement that I really lust for is a 356... But I am not that rich.

On the other hand, I am an old fart, and I can appreciate that times move on, not back.

AND - I see that I had made a pretty snarky comment, for which I apologize.

But I guess the painted center caps are worth a lot of extra money.

And I guess, it WOULD be difficult to enjoy a two seat car without automatic multizone climate control. But I hope they cured the black snow problem.

And I guess the benefits of direct fuel injection outweigh the detriments.

And I guess all that extra complexity means you don't have to (get to) work on your own car.

But many of those things are standard on my 986:

Digital continuous indication of total mileage, trip mileage, time, outside temperature, and speed.

Vanity mirrors (but mine were lighted from new - very important when doing my makeup while driving at night).

Anti-lock braking system (ABS) - I think I had that in my college beater - hardly an "option" in this day and age.

Mine also came with matching floor mats. (Not on your list)
