Re: 2003 top opening issue

My top opens fine until the clamshell is about 2 inches from flush, then it goes real slow and takes a minute to completely lower, no issues raising top, everything else works fine.
What is going on?

I don't actually know, but i would suspect some form of binding. I would look at all the support joints looks for dirt, ensure that they are well lubricated. I would also look for some obstruction - something it needs to "crush" to close. Could even be part of the top hat is not folding properly. or a cable frayed at the very end?

Since it eventually gets there, it cannot be the motor or limit switches, which are a common problem.
