Which Battery Tender confused smiley

The Battery Tender Junior (.75 amp output) or the Battery Tender Plus (1.25 amp output) ? Seems as if both units have the same function - any need for the additional amperage?

TIA,

Ed

The only real difference is in how fast the unit will bring the battery up to full charge; otherwise they are the same.

Something to consider: No Battery Tender product has a de-sulfating cycle built into its charge program. With battery sulfating being one of the leading causes of premature death, having it de-sulfated every time it is on the maintainer should significantly increase the battery's life potential. Other brands, like Ctek, have the de-sulfating cycle on all their products. Might be a good point for some comparison shopping................

I assume you mean 'premature battery death'.

For a moment, it sounded as though people with batteries inside the passenger compartment or trunks (VW, BMW) might be in big trouble. grinning smiley

Can't find the specs for the Battery in my 05 987S!

The CTEK US 800 says a Battery size of 1.2 - 32Ah (100Ah) (1.2-100Ah maintenance charging) - is that sufficient?

Thanks again,

The Ctek 800 is a good entry level unit, with full de-sulfating capabilities. It will be fine for your car. Be sure to order the cigarette lighter adaptor for it. If your particular garage installation requires long leads between the maintainer and the car, let me know; there are some neat extension cords available, but they don’t come from Ctek………….
