So, after getting my new tires installed, the pretty red indicator on the dash now indicates that I have brake pad wear. Three questions folks; 1) Is the brake wear sensor "mileage driven", so that it goes off after a certain mileage, or does it actually reflect the condition of the pads? The car just turned 45K and it seems like a coincidence that the light came on at that moment..., 2) Areby Kevin the Slow in NYC - Main Forum
I'll have them installed this weekend. I'll do an oil change, air/pollen filters and I'll be ready to roll! KtSby Kevin the Slow in NYC - Main Forum

This is as annual as BRBS itself, but my pre-trip inspection always includes replacing 4 tires. Well, to be fair, only 3 are shot, both rears and a bubble on 1 front, but wisdom indicates that the 4th will find a home in the garage for an emergency swap if needed. So, friends and family, whats the current Tire-Du-Jour? Michelin PS2's (18") have always been my choice, but I'm open to suggestionby Kevin the Slow in NYC - Main Forum
It's not the 1st time I've been in the wrong state, I suffer from severe directional dementia! Lol I don't know if Bobby will make it this year, but we'll still manage to have fun. KtSby Kevin the Slow in NYC - Main Forum

The CEL comes on, but it turns off after a few seconds. My Indy is a Porsche mechanic, but I don't know the technical stuff about what tool he used or what codes he collected. I do trust him, I was just concerned about changing one injector verses changing them all out. I'm going to ask questions tomorrow, but I'm inclined to take his advice. I've been dealing with an electrical gremlin for some time now; radio going dead and dashboard gauges racing and dropping flat and a "fluttering" of my engine when I press it hard. It seems to stall for a few moments before gaining speed, then lags. It's constant and is most noticeable above 3000 rpms in low gears. My Indy seems to have resolved the dashboard issue by replacing a frayed wire inby Kevin the Slow in NYC - Main Forum

Marilyn, I'm so sorry for your loss, Dick was a wonderful man. He never seemed to run short on energy and had a sense of humor that kept everyone around him laughing. I will miss him, Kevinby Kevin the Slow in NYC - Main Forum
They wanted to use clear silicon, but I had them use black as it blended better in the seam against Guards Red. KtS - For those with a long memory, Will there be bacon on the cheese burgers in Little Switzerland this time?by Kevin the Slow in NYC - Main Forum
The dealer should volunteer to check your serial number to see what open TSB's or Recalls there are on your vehicle. This is true no matter where you bought the car or if it's still under warranty. The dealer gets paid from the manufacturer for doing the work, and it helps to build customer good will. It's also used by dealers to distract you from the obscenely high prices they charge for everby Kevin the Slow in NYC - Main Forum
On my 05 S, built in 4/05, the hi-pitched whistle was there on the drive home from the dealer. It took several visits before they figured out that the seam between the two half's of the mirror cover was to blame. This info was used in helping to establish the TBS fix for the mirror whistle. The fix took just a few minutes and the whistle has never returned. It might be worth having the dealerby Kevin the Slow in NYC - Main Forum
I liked the feature from the old, old place where you could look at the post statistics to see the top 10 posters and such. I was always amazed when I was anywhere the top, but i generally found myself way down at the bottom. Any thoughts of doing that here? Twas cold as a witch's ..... heart, with wind-chills in the mid 20 degree area, but an enjoyable morning at Captree. Not many cars out, only one lot and it was very sparse. As I arrived, several P-Cars were leaving before I could get the camera out. The Corvette crowd was also thin, but a few were worth taking pics of... OK, enough of that! On to some rather interesting non-Porsche prodby Kevin the Slow in NYC - Main Forum
