When my '09S was still quite young, I was getting occasional very strange behavior from the PDK: Upon starting up the car and shifting into reverse to back out of my garage, the PDK remained in neutral and the message "Emergency Transmission Run" showed up on the display, with no further information. The only way to get into gear was to shut of the car and re-start it, and even then it would do tby Leor ('09S, North of Boston) - Main Forum
Boxterra, just found your post on the same topic, sorry. Can't find a "delete post" button, eitherby Leor ('09S, North of Boston) - Main Forum
The word "Boxster" does appear in the list of cars this applies to, so technically this isn't 100% NBC, but close enough. The story is rather interesting due to the efforts VW made to suppress publicity on this. Also, I'd be curious as to which model years of P-cars are actually affected... and while the effort apparently required to exploit this issue is non-trivial, there could still be impby Leor ('09S, North of Boston) - Main Forum
Hmmm, looks like the fuse I replaced, marked as "cigarette lighter", A10, is labeled as "dipped beam headlight" in your chart. So, not the same...by Leor ('09S, North of Boston) - Main Forum
When I didn't see the booklet, first I looked in the manual, then went online and couldn't understand why I could not locate a fuse diagram! Now I get it... most people must actually notice the booklet is in there when they take off the cover, so nobody has bothered to post the info online!by Leor ('09S, North of Boston) - Main Forum
When I took the fuse box cover off, I didn't notice the little booklet clipped in there...found out from Googling. Fuse replaced.by Leor ('09S, North of Boston) - Main Forum
I noticed a while back that my maintainer didn't seem to think it was plugged in when I had it plugged into the 12V socket in the center console, and today I see it is happy when plugged into the passenger-side socket. I can't find a fuse diagram anywhere, so...is it likely a fuse, and can anyone point me to a 987-2 S fuse map? Thanks!by Leor ('09S, North of Boston) - Main Forum
I seem to recall seeing this discussion in the past.... Reflecting on the turn signal issue today, and playing over in my mind some of the scenarios I've been involved with relating to aggressive drivers, here's my reasoning FOR using my turn signals (above and beyond typical common sense): If the driver behind me in the lane I'm about to change into is an aggressive enough jerk that he (or sheby Leor ('09S, North of Boston) - Main Forum

Everyone was barreling along in the fast lane on Route 95 North near Burlington, MA a few years ago, and up ahead of me I saw traffic coming to a sudden halt. I knew that I could stop the Boxster in the space I had, barely, but I had a lot less confidence in the beat-up car following behind me a bit too close for comfort. Fortunately, there was a shoulder, so I pulled out into it as I was slowingby Leor ('09S, North of Boston) - Main Forum

Wouldn't the weight of the turbo(s) and plumbing bring the combined package back to the same ballpark as the 6?by Leor ('09S, North of Boston) - Main Forum
Next to the Boxsters I've owned, the most fun I've ever had with a car has been my '91 MR2 Turbo. And that was "only" 200HP. I always loved the sound and feel of the turbo spinning up. I would definitely be a buyer of one of these.by Leor ('09S, North of Boston) - Main Forum
Not that we don't all know Porsche's have a high margin, but this article does a good job IMO of putting it in perspective...by Leor ('09S, North of Boston) - Main Forum

As I understand stability management (Porsche's or anyone's), it works by monitoring each wheel's rate of rotation and correlating that to the position of the steering wheel. If there's a "disconnect", then ABS-like action is taken on wheels at opposite corners of the car to counter the detected instability. It doesn't seem that throttle state should have anything to do with the need to apply PSby Leor ('09S, North of Boston) - Main Forum
This was one of the symptoms I had (in my '09S 987.2) before finding out there was a "silent recall" of the HPFP. Silent meaning they don't mail out notices, but wait until you happen to bring the car in for service and then mention you're eligible for a replacement. Anyway, I was getting the "Emergency transmission run" message quite often, and I had to shut off the ignition and start the carby Leor ('09S, North of Boston) - Main Forum
Yup, indeed. I don't believe we've managed to get away to participate in a TSBL event since... this summer has basically been an extended honeymoon for me with my new (to me) BMW R1200RT, so lots of riding, not quite as much 4-wheeling...by Leor ('09S, North of Boston) - Main Forum
Here's my wife Lisa (and a piece of my finger I didn't even know was there when the pic was just in my phone, lol) getting ready for her next run at the Northeast Region PCA D.E. at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, August 2, '13:by Leor ('09S, North of Boston) - Main Forum

Good luck on the hunt. If you do end up with a 1st/2nd-year 987.2, make sure they've applied the high-pressure fuel pump replacement "silent recall"...by Leor ('09S, North of Boston) - Main Forum

There was/is a "silent recall" on the High-Pressure Fuel Pump on the '09 Boxster S, and I'm wondering if that also applies to the C2S. One of the symptoms I had before they put the replacement pump in was lack of engine response when I called for power NOW; there was a hesitation. Another symptom was the OBC message "Emergency Transmission Run", accompanied by the inability to put the PDK into geby Leor ('09S, North of Boston) - Main Forum
