Funny thing was seeing the Italia acquitting itself well around the track, but a guy with what looked like an ex-police Crown Vic kept trading places with him on many laps. The guy with the Ferrari, (a gracious gentleman) had power and caution, and the Detroit Iron beater guy just flailed away... Any rig with damping fluid might be worth fixing up.by Laz - Main Forum
SOTA Star (love that vacuum hold down) with Cosmos armboard and reflex clamp. It also has litz wire running from the arm to an RCA termination on back for better suspension freedom, although I wonder about signal compromises. Additions to the arm are the silicone trough like the V (mine is a IV) and a finger lift. I used to have a van den Hul MC (autographed spec sheet even!) but have been usingby Laz - Main Forum
Porsche claims the flat six engine configuration yields a lower center of gravity than others. In researching phono cartridges for my turntable, which has an SME arm, I came across a page on SME's site that reminded me of why the counterweight is underslung. but the very name "Italia" is so apt for a car that embodies the pulchritude of its namesake. If Michelangelo were around to design a car... I believe the Italia is Ferrari's most beautiful visual statement since the original Dino. Not to knock the California, but the Italia has a resolution of line that the former doesn't.by Laz - Main Forum
And way back when, I had a great drive on the Tamiami Trail in my girlfriend's aunt's new '73 Chevy. (Epcot was still under construction, by the way.) Being that year was just about the low point for car drivability, the Chevy had been running badly. After that trip, her aunt made the unsolicited comment that the car was running much better. Any water in the system would contribute to corrosion and eventual failure. Not dust but nail polish: I had instructed a Honda dealer to check my CRX's valve clearances. Having had problems with their work before, I put a discrete dot of nail polish at the gap of each valve cover bolt. When I went to get the car, I inspected the bolts before paying, and they hadn't been touched. In front of staby Laz - Main Forum
It's a major production with the actors in early 20th Century garb. The Everyday ad is nice; years ago had 40 pound bags of sand and gravel in my Boxster.by Laz - Main Forum
When asked if Porsche owners are interested in the environment, the CEO didn't really say they are, but mentioned concern for fuel mileage. Ok, enlightened self-interest is a means to an end, but I don't think being environmentally conscious and being a Porsche owner are mutually exclusive concepts. Before hearing that the Lohner was a replica, I wondered how they dared having it out on a sea-salby Laz - Main Forum

I had assumed the German traffic regulations were based on the drivers having respect for them and that the yellow indicated, "Achtung! The signal will be turning green momentarily." Perhaps Zurichers are more like Brooklynites when it comes to traffic signals.by Laz - Main Forum
Years ago in Rome I fell in with a group of people from rural and small town USA. (I'm a Noo Yawka.) When we went to visit the Colosseum, they were bewildered by the traffic madly circling around. I gathered them up, stepped into the fray, and with confidence and deliberation strode across. The cars moved this way and that, but like the Red Sea parting, we reached the other side unscathed.
