My science is shaky here, but going by the symptoms, could the air flow be close enough to spec at low rpms, even with with some leakage? Then at medium to high airflow vacuum causes the throttle body tube to progressively constrict and relax around the throttle body opening. Earlier tonight a friend started up his Boxster and when he turned on the Xenons, there was a bit of a delay and then only intermittent flickering sort of alternating between the two units, like a stroboscopic semaphore. I believe I've seen here that quite often the ignition switch is suspect, but with a couple subsequent light switch rotations the phenomenon stopped. Earlier in the evening the tby Laz - Main Forum

I attributed it to my not having seated it completely, even though the resistance going into the roll bar felt like it was enough. Have you checked that the remaining one's clips still have the little pads? (Bottom only, I think.) From then on I've set the bottoms in, then pushed the tops in quickly so they have a detente "snap," and then check by pushing very, very gently from the seat side.by Laz - Main Forum
