I've been pleasantly surprised at the evolving note (voices, actually) of my 13 Boxster S. At about 40 thousand, a more resonant, deeper sound. I figured the motor had reached full maturity. Not so. At 60 thousand, there were more nuances, and more depth. By 80, even more so, with whirling, whirring, and zinging. Now, at 90+, the startup idle has a cavernous resonanance, like orchestral cellos anby Laz - Main Forum

... a tag that accompanies the new key head. I'm just a little confused, and I kept what I think is that tag for 9 years, but may've tossed it recently. At least it's not needed at the moment.by Laz - Main Forum
I can't speak for the pre-main race crowds, having arrived at my Chinetti grandstand seat just minutes before the 2014 start, but all the stands were packed, and overall attendance was 263,000. After a few hours the stands mostly emptied, but refilled toward the end of the race. If you can't get access to the Mulsanne Straight, the view from the Ferris wheel could help. I was hoping to post a 10 second, 25.5 Mb video, but Imgur won't accept the original iPhone file, nor subsequent shortened and/or converted via iMovie files. The are grayed out in the Upload browsing panel's "suppported files" list. (Latest Macbook Air, Monterey 12.2.1, and all other apps up to date.) Is there a comprehensible, non-kludge (remember that word? ) workaround? Please keep in mind Iby Laz - Board suggestions
The high shifter directly connected to the gearbox (good,) but the upshift I wanted to grab the quickest, 2nd, would crunch (bad.) Had a 71 and 77, both used, both crunchy. A friend who's a superb mechanic worked with me on rebuilding the 77's engine, and he did the trans on his own. I think we used an "improved" set of synchros, but within months the 1-2 shift started crunching again. My 66 912by Laz - Main Forum
“You could concentrate on driving.” An inference can be made that manual clutch shifting isn’t “driving.” If one or more of the other historical human operator functions are automated, does that allow for even more concentration on “driving?” Not judging manual vs. PDK, just having a thought experiment.by Laz - Main Forum

It helps, too, if the oil got over 212 for a bit.by Laz - Main Forum
It was either my sales guy, who's an enthusiast (tracked a 944,) and seemingly knowledgeable, or one of the dealer service people, mentioned the snapshot to me when I asked about the cold reading. I read somewhere (another "read somewhere" ) that Porsche has specific parameters for the maximum longitudinal and lateral angles allowable for accurate readings. Even without these numbers I suppose thby Laz - Main Forum

The idea is that a non-running car can only lose oil through leaks, (well, maybe some past the rings.) This would be a way to get a basic, go / no go oil check without needing a dipstick, or instrument* reading. The car will have to be started and run one last time before instituting the "oil puddle" procedure from then on. At the end of its run and shut off where it will be parked for a while,by Laz - Main Forum
It's hard to imagine an electric Abrams tank having a practical range, and a practical recharging time. It would be a tactical nightmare. At least with current battery technology.by Laz - Main Forum
Then look under the car before restarting. If the oil isn't all over the ground, it's likely safe to restart from cold.by Laz - Main Forum
