I know a guy that had a rack that hung his very pricey carbon bike in front of his exhaust pipes and it melted the carbon... Probably not gonna be an issue unless you are sitting for long periods in traffic.by 986rgt - Main Forum

I know some will knock it because its HF, but some of their products are very good. I believe certain floor jacks are in this category. I have another one of theirs that is the aluminum racing jack, also very good, but I added this one to my garage solely for its max height. My aluminum one would barely lift my Suburban off the ground let alone give me clearance to actually work underneath. Ifby 986rgt - Main Forum

Life has become so much more hectic now that I'm a single dad working full time shift work. I will tell you, I am cleaning out the garage this weekend with my little helpers and I PROMISE I will get you some pictures. I've never done snows on the boxster and don't intend to, way too much time money and heart invested in it to let some soccer mom doing 90 in her SUV in the snow destroy it and probby 986rgt - Main Forum
Contemplating something rear engined and german as my daily driver, but I live in CT so I'm wondering about winter driving. I would definitely do a set of dedicated snow tires for winter and all seasons for the rest of the year. I was thinking a 996 C4S or Turbo, but the prices of regular 911's are so much better on the wallet! I do sometimes have to drive in snow to get to work so I can't have sby 986rgt - Main Forum

No one seems to consider what happens when those things are spent and need to be disposed of. Hazardous waste anyone? Not enough clean energy to make this worthwhile, this is simply as it is stated, some politicians trying to make themselves look better than the rest by "caring" about the earth. Its not the case, just politics. Maybe we can give tax breaks to VW, Audi, BMW, Mercedes , and Porscheby 986rgt - Main Forum
Hey guys, thanks for the responses. After doing some additional research, I came across a Pelican article regarding the light switch going bad. Went home and twisted the switch quickly through the positions a bunch of times and they are working again. Must be getting carbon deposits on the switch position, so I guess its time to buy a new switch... Steveby 986rgt - Main Forum
Got home from a trip last week and shut the car off for a few moments in the driveway, when I turned the car back on, my headlights would not work. The drivers side bulb will flicker on for a brief moment every few seconds but the passenger stays dark. Time for a new set of bulbs or could this be a ballast issue? Steveby 986rgt - Main Forum
There were a bunch of streaming sites on the internets, but it would be cool if we could just get a decent motorsports channel back like Speedvision used to be. One of my buddies turned me on to a site called: Racing4everyone.eu If you ever miss a race on TV, F1, Pirelli Challenge, LM, they post it up like a day after it airs, no commercial breaks and very good quality. I have no affiliation, jusby 986rgt - Main Forum
First thing I would do is have a beer, relax... Then I would wait and see what the dealer offers as a solution. They very well could offer a new engine or a rebuild of the current engine, both of which would solve your problem. They very well could total the car, in which case I would argue they pay you top resale value for the car so that you can replace it with a comparable vehicle. Seriously tby 986rgt - Main Forum

Took about a minute of cranking for my Subaru to start up. Might be time for a new battery! Damn its cold, and to top it off, show up at work and looks like I will be spending some quality time in the outdoors this morning. Someone hunt down that groundhog for me and turn him into a nice warm hat or gloves... Steveby 986rgt - Main Forum
GEt out the popcorn, I'm sure this will get the armchair and regular engineers going... The mesh will not limit airflow more than the radiators do as the it is the fan functions to pull the air through the radiator and whatever other restriction once the car is up to speed. The biggest limiting factor is the radiator... Discuss!!by 986rgt - Main Forum
Its bigger than screen door material, almost like an 1/8-1/4" lattice. Keeps the big stuff out, lets the air through. Quick search of that auction site came up with this similar product... Mesh Steveby 986rgt - Main Forum
