I bought my car about 1.5 years ago. Got new tires and alignment. So, after 3000 miles, the rear tires are wearing on the inside edges. The cars’ PO had put Bilstein shocks on it, and, it’s been lowered a bit. The alignment guy said he couldn’t get it into spec, especially on the passenger side, which, is also the side wearing the worst. I’ve found these Godspeed rear lateral control armsby Landsboxster - Main Forum

QuoteBoxsterra I really liked the way they looked but once I drove it, I was sold. I didn’t let anyone drive, but one person was very impressed on how the car handled a bumpy street. The S horsepower impressed them as well. When I bought my car, I had to drive it 200 miles back home. At the time, the rear tires were not great and weren’t balanced. I was regretting my purchase during that tby Landsboxster - Main Forum
Went to the first Cars and Coffee here in town, sponsored by the local BMW owners club. Free donuts and a Dutch Bros coffee across the street made the event even more special. My Boxster and a 996 (911?) twin turbo represented the Porsche’s. A few Beemers, an Audi and a MK3 Jetta rounded up the Euro cars. A couple Mazda’s also showed up, which was fine! Thank you. He said he thought he could, and would do some research, when I got the Audi key cut to my car. I just haven’t gotten back with him yet.by Landsboxster - Main Forum
On this topic, my original key with remote - the remote doesn’t work. So I got an Audi key cut, with the RFID slot in it, and now have a working key that’s not a worn out button key. My locksmith seemed to think he could create another RFID pill. Could he? It would be nice to have a second working key. But, it sounds like I would need two sets of codes and the Porsche only computer setup? Iby Landsboxster - Main Forum
I bought my 2002 S just over a year ago with 70,000 on it. Have to say I’m loving it. Lots of small issues just due to age and neglect to catch up on but have them mostly sorted. Have about 74,000 on it now.by Landsboxster - Main Forum

I did ok! Tripled my total investment. And didn’t even have to tow it anywhere.... Was dropped off and picked up at my driveway. Darn thing wouldn’t even roll without the clutch pedal down. Pretty sure transmission is toast. Sounds very growly and not right... I’m listing it as a parts car with a running engine... I’d fix but the body is just too beat up for my taste. No rust, just the aftermarket paint is bad. And the seats are bad.by Landsboxster - Main Forum
Today I cleaned the car out and got it running! It’s stuck in reverse. I’ll put it up on stands tomorrow and see if it’s linkage related. Seats are completely ruined. I think this car sat around with the top either down or missing or shredded. Then, it got some body work done and they put a new top on it. But, passenger airbag is missing, front clip is another color under the paint and theby Landsboxster - Main Forum

Slightly different, but not unrelated, when I bought the car my remote key did not work. Also the little button covers were worn off and at least one of the buttons was broken. So, I tried to get a electric repair place in Portland to solder the new tiny buttons on it and, I got a button cover. But still didn’t work. That was 60$ down the drain. What I did do tho was, get a generic Audi key, aby Landsboxster - Main Forum
QuoteLandsboxster Well, I offered 200$ and a 300$ trade item, delivered, and he said yes! Supposedly coming this way this morning... It was delivered. Unfortunately, I’m also moving my mom so, I had to leave right away. But will update as soon as I get home and can tinker with it. Still have these questions... anyone? Bueller? Bueller? Also, I’m probably going to buy a very junky 1999 Boxster tomorrow for 500$. Was an impound and supposedly runs but doesn’t move forward. Not 100% sure what I’ll do with it, but will assess once it is in my driveway. Someone had done a home paint and body job on it, and it’s horrible. The top looks good tho. Is there an easy way to get my daytime running lights activated on my 2002 Boxster S? Also, possibly in conjunction to this, anyone out there, in Oregon or Northern California who might have a Durametric computer to turn on my onboard computer? QuoteBoxsterra n/t There’s a 5$ generic resistor hack. 100watt .5 ohm. I got them both in the car today, and cycling correctly. If this doesn’t work long term, I’m gonna just run them at high speed whenever they call for it. Back on the road! Will report back if the 5$ resistors do or do not last a long time. Lots of youtube info on them tho and my thought is, 145$ per resistor from Porscby Landsboxster - Main Forum

Quotefrogster i remember having premature inside wear on the rear and a good alignment fixed it. camber wasn't out of spec nor was it changed. toe was. I do know that the alignment guy told me that the right camber could not be brought to spec, and thus the extra wear on that side... I’m sure that toe in would also be a factor but in my case, I don’t think so.by Landsboxster - Main Forum
QuotePedro (Odessa, FL) Too much (negative) camber will wear out the inside of the tire faster than it should. If the car was lowered then the geometry may be affected hence not being able to get it back to spec. Raise it a bit and the shop should be able to get the camber within the recommended specs. Kind of what I was wondering! Thanks for the verification. I’ll turn up the Bilstein rideby Landsboxster - Main Forum
I did the hack. I was wrong on the locations of the relays, and yes, the Porsche diagram is correct. The hack works great! I’ll order some resistors in the meantime, and install them when they get in! Thanks for the help. Lanceby Landsboxster - Main Forum
When I bought the car, last August, the rear tires were very worn on inside edges. I purchased new tires and an alignment. The alignment guy, who’s very knowledgeable and I trust, said the right side he couldn’t get into spec. This would be Camber, I believe,. I discovered the car has Bilstein after market shocks at all corners and is lowered slightly. Anyway, 4000 miles later, the inside ofby Landsboxster - Main Forum
