... you have a badly worn front engine mount. Don't let it deteriorate much more because it can damage your half axle joints. The OEM mount is only good for 45K miles max. Happy Boxstering, Pedroby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum

... you may get a local discount to match Tire Racks prices, and generally you get what you pay for. In my case I have an excellent tire mounting and balancing shop that knows their stuff and has never scratched a wheel. To me that is more important than a not having to wait a day or two for tires to be shipped to them by Tire Rack. They just asked where I'd be staying (Canada) and for how long. I was driving a rental car and they didn't even ask for anything relating to the car. On the way back it was just the long wait. As you may have seen, we have a new sponsor since last week: TireRack.com. This is not a normal sponsorship arrangement we have with them. They have agreed to give PedrosBoard a small commission every time a sale is made through a link from us. So, if you click on the TireRack banner on the top of the page, it will take you directly to TireRack's website, but it tracks where you came from. Thereby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Sponsors

... I can see that this was an old car. Nicneu, I sense your curiosity and thank you for your being frank with us. Here's what I see. It's a base Boxster (2.5 liter) from 1997 to 1999. So, the car is likely 12 years old or more. Most of it's systems (hydraulic, fuel, cooling, etc.) are probably fatigued by age and mileage. ... several sets of Lloyds Mats and a couple of the OEMs as well. No question that the Lloyds are superior in feel and wear (there are several tiers of quality in Lloyds - get the thickest). I, on the other hand absolutely love the strap system. It anchors to the seat rails and uses a quick-release buckle for the mat. I've never had it come loose. ... Bosch batteries. They have several that fit the Boxster and the 996/997s. The box is exactly the same as the Moll OEM battery, so there is no issue with fit or battery cable length. I've got a Bosch 48-690B in mine. Been in there for several years with no issues. Happy Boxstering, Pedroby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum
... because we've seen better results with Swepco 201. The transmissions use the same type of sealed bearings as the Intermediate Shaft uses. The Porsche transmission oil seems to dissolve the "lifetime" bearing grease very soon. ... it is recommended that when one coil goes, you replace them all as a set. The rationale is that when one fails (because of age) eventually the rest will as well. When they get old they don't deliver the same voltage/current to the spark as a new one.
