a 2017 Turbo S at the Porsche Zentrum (At the Quail Lodge). Couldn't tell it had a rear engine. Amazing car!by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
I was in the auction tent when the 917 went on the block. Earlier in the week, attended a Gooding auction area tour led by David Gooding and Keith Martin (Sports Car Market magazine fame). Got a chance to visit the Canepa museum and restoration shop. A great week for car enthusiasts.by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
But, my '00 S still is running strong and looking good. 108K miles on her. I enjoy every time I drive top down, even if it is only when cool out. Unfortunately, have to deal with occasional CEL lights. Macsak, still have your Boxster?by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
I have yet to find a good one. Does your work well? Who makes it? If others have ideas, I am all ears.by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
I know I could google it, but I want to add a topic for discussion. I see that many manufacturers are offering lane departure, parking assist and automatic emergency braking (and hosts of other systems). Does Porsche offer these on it's sports cars, SUVs or touring cars? Would you want any of those?by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum

Was it easy to find reasonably priced accommodations? If you drove, were there a lot of crowded traffic areas (i.e. is getting a rental car a good option)? I would like to visit there someday soon.by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
his hat. I chatted with him for a few minutes and shook his hand. He was 22 then and operated the Higgins boats. He said he knew several 16 year old boys in the service. Imagine that, 16 years old and facing the horrors of war and D Day.by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum

Are you saying that you need a driver's side headlight? I have a gently used passenger side amber standard light (not litronic). I also have a set of gently used rear light assemblies, amber colored directional lenses.by Tony in Whittier - Parts for Sale
Was that in Lake Tahoe? That pic was taken before I drove up and parked next to the basalt black S. Remind me, who are the guys taking the challenging camera shot? Good luck with your new ride! I just drove the 718 S at the Porsche Zentrum at the Quail in the Carmel area (Monterey car week). We got to drive in the hills for a bit. Far better acceleration and handling. The cap was tight, But when I pushed down on the plastic funnel to check it's return travel, I noticed it was not very "springy". Then when I gently pulled up on the funnel and noticed that it comes out. The spring below the funnel also is easily removable. Are you supposed to be able to lift these out? Is the spring supposed to be connected to the funnel? Mine are separate.by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
At ~2000 to 3000 rpm. Yesterday, I treated the engine more aggressively (Left in 2nd at 4000 instead of upshifting while cruising, shifted at higher rpms, etc.). Idle still stays at 1050 to 1100 for about 3 to 5 sec. before dropping to 600 or 700 when I lift to stop for a stop light. Filled it up at Chevron too. Will test more.by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
I have multiple cars, so I drive it about every 2 weeks for about a week or two. During that week or two, I drive it every few days. Most of my driving is city driving and when I can I drive on the freeway, at higher speeds I do. The city driving I do always gets the engine to operating temperature. I do not push the engine until it is warmed up. The hesitation occurs when I accelerate from abouby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
2000 Boxster S. When I do a mild or heavy acceleration in 2nd or 3rd, I get a light pause before the motor winds out. Have not had that previously. I do not have a check engine light. Idle fine, performance fine except for that. Any thoughts on what I should check on? 3- 1/2 years, ~9K on the air filter. I am thinking that the throttle body needs a cleaning.by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
Don't know if this helps anything. When I replaced my slave cylinder a few years back, I had a real hard time getting the slave cylinder back into position. I could not get enough leverage to push the clutch fork back so that I could install the attachment bolts. I finally made a wood jig like block that gave a bit more leverage. I was working with it on and off for days. I believe I had the clby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum

I set out to do a more thorough cleaning of the reservoir threads, so I removed the plastic cover at the oil and coolant station. I saw that the ventilation (purge) valve top had a light yellow corrosion build up on it. So, I cleaned it off and vacuumed out the residue. I figured that something must be loose to cause the corrosion. I checked the nuts on the top of the valve and found that a few wby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
I got the pressure test kit the other day from Harbor Freight. I plan to test later today or tomorrow. My thoughts on the need for a test: My car has historically run hot. I have never had it tested for a pressure loss. Running the A/C with the fans that accompany it lowers the temperature a bit. I do not have to add coolant (Reservoir level stays between the minimum and maximum.). I do not seby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
