I have other P cars in smaller and larger scale. My Boxster concept seems to have the same suspension issue. Not one silver car though.by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
the broken one. I was a bit surprised in the size of the assembly. I was expecting a small plastic switch. Price is usually not an indicator of the quality or size of the part, especially when it is a Porsche part ($120 before tax and shipping). It took the guy about 1.75 hours to R & R. He also tested the other micro-switches while he had all the parts out (latch, cables, brackets, etc.). Tby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
Both handles drop the window when pulled fully. Both drop the window when pulled partially and the window goes back up when the handle is released (and the door unopened) Once the door is open, the window goes back up again when it should stay down. No other funny things happening with the window or alarm. Just to clarify, are there 3 potential parts at fault: the door lock module, regulator (uby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
My window drops when the inside handle is pulled, then goes right back up before the door is closed. Window works fine otherwise (dropping before top opened, regular operations). I asked the service writer at one of the dealers nearby for pricing and diagnosis. The conclusion is either a bad microswitch or a worn regulator. Is there a way to know the culprit before taking the door card off? I liby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum

Really only needed 2 rear tires, but I will get a $70 discount card for buying a set. Really didn't want to mix different tire types anyway. I probably had about 10K miles left on the fronts (can be partially seen in one of the pics.).by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
Have regularly used Bridgestone S02As. Having difficulty getting them locally at a decent price (I know Tire Rack has them, but I would have to bring them in to a shop for an install.). May have to go to S04s. Can anyone comment on the S04s? Compared to S02s? S04s not available as a N rated tire? I also see a tire load rating on the non N-rated tires typically as 92Y 1389# (N-rated don't show lby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
Wheel well arches (finishing off of the edges): 986. Width on 986 is ~1/2". Later generations much larger. Double? Side mirrors: 986. Less busy design. Front grilles: 986. Just the right size. Later generations are humongous. Horsepower: Later generations. Rear window: Later generations, hands down.by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum

Tony Callas has installed many IMS bearing kits and has years of experience on Porsches, new and old. As he has mentioned to me a few times, he provided support for Porsche at LeMans a few years back. Good guy, but can be pricey. He writes technical articles for PCA GPX monthly newsletter. Why are all of the touring cars on the wrong side of the street? This photo was from USA, right? If for a turn from the center lane, the yellow line is not broken for their direction of travel. Or, are they all parked (then why is there a broken yellow line on the shoulder?by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum

Air in my spare tire dropped considerably. I check it regularly, so I was a bit surprised. Filled it up, but air streamed out. Took the tire to a local America's Tire shop. They refused to work on it since the born date is 2000. I asked them to just replace the valve insert. OK, but cannot pressurize it. They could not even find a replacement tire in their database. Took it to another shop and tby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum

$2.09 for unleaded regular!! Locally we are back up to $2.73. Funny how the price goes up in larger increments when rising then when dropping. You call that traffic? That is light traffic on a Saturday morning in So Cal. Enjoy your new ride.by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
Found these ideas: Mothballs in a container placed under the engine; spray the engine compartment, wiring and hoses with either peppermint oil or Pine Sol; keep hood open; place lights over the compartment; set traps nearby. Hard to find mothballs. Where do I get peppermint oil?by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
Toyota Tacoma always parked outside under a good quality tent on a concrete slab. Rural setting. Driven every other day or so. Lifted hood to remove trickle charger when I saw something scurry further back into the engine bay. I could see the rat's tail as it went over the bell housing. I fired up the engine and tried to see if it jumped out. I did not see. So I went on my way. I checked severalby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum

The track record of our representatives on spending is dismal. I dont want to get started on government waste. The proposed gas tax will be based on miles driven (tracking device). The trucking industry has expressed their disapproval. My biggest conern is privacy. I don't want big brother knowing how or where I drive. Next concern is that the tax is regressive, much harder on the poor. After aby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum

Are you paying the rebuilder directly or paying the total price to the dealer? What I am implying is that the dealer is assuming responsibility/liability by recommending this expert. I would go that route. It seems odd to me that a Porsche dealer would allow anything but a new OEM part. You have some recourse in the event that it does not work. Good luck.by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum

Both cars have proved to be very reliable cars. The cost to maintain either are very similar. Boxster- Tires wear out much faster and are more expensive. My S goes through a lot of half shaft boots. I think 5 in 102K miles. I had my AOS changed recently as a preventive measure while I had a cam sensor replaced. 911- Valve adjustment every 2 years with a cost of about $350. If I may. The raffle winner (Howard) lived in London and it was not feasible for him to ship his car over the pond. So, I asked him to sell me his winning ticket. That amount got donated by Howard to the cause. I got an awesome installation. Still love it!by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
