That you buy used converters (esp. In calif.). That the dealer will install customer supplied parts and used parts too. I hope it solves your issues.by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
It tested well on a load test. I figured it was wise to not press my luck. I replaced it with the same. Always use the P battery maintainer.by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
If I recall correctly, the price is competitive with the 981. Reminds me of a lotus elise, which takes some contortioning on entering and existing.by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
there is only 1 readiness exception. The tech/owner confirmed my research. He also said that this allowance will not be allowed next year (for all MY 99 and newer). The dyno/driving portion of the smog test will be eliminated. Only the OB diagnostic portion of the test will be done. The smog portion of my test passed with far below average and maximum on all pollutants. All the components are woby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
Did you get that new battery? I hope they installed the OEM version.by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
Is the not ready status an automatic failure on a smog test? Are suggestions on what I should do now?by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
I drove around town a lot yesterday while running a bunch of errands. The car got to normal operating temp. and more. I had my scanner with me. I checked it at various times. Weather was about 85 degrees. Tomorrow I will do the procedure that Pedro suggested. That is the best day to drive 40 to 60 mph for a constant distance. I hope that it is nothing serious. I had to replace the cat. on my 911by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum

I thought that was good enough.by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
The O2 sensors work was 4800 miles ago. Did cleaning the air filter cause the exception?by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
The battery should have been tested under the CPO. I would try to get them to replace it on their dime. It has a mfr. date on it. If the life is close to the projected battery life (i.e. 48 month battery, etc.), it won't last much longer. Can you use a battery tender? I swear by them. The real issue for replacing the clutch is... is it slipping? When you accelerate, does the engine rev. with a dby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
I went in for my smog check today. The technician plugged in his OBDII equipment and came back with a failed readiness indicator. The catalyst is showing as "not complete". All the other indicators are complete (Including evaporative system, secondary air system, oxygen sensor and oxygen sensor heater). A little background: When I opened the engine cover, I took out the air filter and cleaned iby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
Also make a call (FU with letter too?) to the U.S. CEO of Volvo Cars of North America LLC. It used that method for another product failure (Sony). I did not speak to the CEO of Sony, but his executive assistant called me back promptly and the matter was resolved to my satisfaction. Good luck.by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
Assuming it was an older model. Have they gotten any better?by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
I am a bit shocked by the MSRP. I am curious to see the shaped rear window in person.by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
Also, I sent you a pm (different subject). Tonyby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
I would think twice about going back to that dealer. That light issue is so obvious that I am shocked that they wanted to charge you, let alone 3 hours of diagnostic time. Find another dealer or a trusted independent shop.by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
She probably feels a bit ignored since she has to share pleasure drives with my '88 911. An album with some of my favorite car related pics. The pic at Mt. Baldy Rd. or Santiago Cyn Rd. is the way she looks now (Fiske wheels and de-ambered head and rear lights): Glad to see you are back in the Boxster fold! Tonyby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
I wonder how many Carrera GTs have been crashed and how many have died in those crashes. I now know of at least 4 killed.by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
Yes Guenter, the 918 really takes styling fron the boxster. I was pleased to see that the turbo cab was given a deserved spot at the show room entry. My carrera coupe is similar. I felt like my car was on display.by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
That is what I remember about robots in 2001 when I visited. Only 1 was used then. There are a few mistakes in the show. They mention the use of the 3.4l motor (Should be 3.6 or 3.8). They also show and say that they are connecting the long exhaust sections in the central hump which are really the coolant tubes to the front radiators. How long are the dual exhaust tubes on a 911? Comments on the 911 front c.c. sensor and the MX5 Spyder? Tonyby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
Nice work. Easy to understand explanation. Question: now that oil is being shot into the bearing and into the shaft tube, will that oil fill the tube making it heavier and possibly out of balance (No quick exit from the tube). Pedro, can you give a shop recommendation for an installation in the L.A. & O.C. area? Tonyby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
I went to the Orange County Auto Show yesterday. The show is always small and does not have the same flare of the L.A. Auto Show. I didn't see Porsche on the legend map. So, I figure that they did not attend (not un-expected). I was in the Mercedes area checking out the new CLA (I was not impressed). Then I saw the Porsche crest banner hanging over the Porsche area. I say area but I should realby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
Mike and Edd sure repeated the "poor mans Porsche" several times during the show. Give it up all ready guys. I know they came around at the end, but show some love. Am I the only one who hated the Alcantara inserts that were chosen? If you are going through all the trouble of replacing the center inserts, why not do it right and replace with matching or contrasting leather? I know this was brouby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
Thanks Grant. When I use the car, the trip is always more than 1/2 hour. I take my bicycle when a close trip is needed. But, yes I do not drive hard. I usually save that for freeway onramps and offramps.by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
Mine is a 2000 S with about 50K on the motor. I drive it about 6000 miles per year. No tracking, but occasional aggressive twisty drives. I change the oil at 5000 miles or annual intervals. I do mostly city driving in my normal commute and personal travels. I do not drive real aggressive on the city streets (Very infrequent visits to red line). I normally upshift when in the 4000 to 5000 rpm rangby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
