or take a whale watching trip out of dana point or long beach? I am not sure if they depart out of san pedro too? The whales can occassionally be seen off the palos verde peninsula at this time of year. Trump golf course and clubhouse is near the viewing areas too.by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
I suggest that he heads straight to angeles crest and take it for the full 60+ miles of twisties to wrightwood for breakfast. He can then return back or take the 15 to the 210 freeway for a faster return trip. Watch out for chp for the first half (until you reach newcomb ranch). From n.r. to wrightwood a lot less traffic and enforcement. You can good practice on your technique. I wouldn't drive aby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
In California real estate, the percentage of female buyers rose again in 2012 to 53 percent, compared to 48 percent last year. However, this has declined from 58 percent in 2007, the highest levels in the history of the Survey (C.A.R. survey). The survey further suggests that females are impacted more negatively in the workplace by the Great Recession.by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum

When I did test drives in 2000, Rusnak let me drive on the twisty roads above the Rose Bowl. Maybe they will let you drive on the Pasadena Freeway (that would be my top pick)? Power has PCH or take Newport Coast (from PCH) to Pelican Hill Rd.by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum

Especially the wheels. I am glad that you are keeping her. BTW- I still have mine (~96K miles on my '00 S). It still brings that permagrin! She has a stable mate, a 1988 Carrera in Grand Prix White. About 157K miles on the chassis. I could not part with either of them. Each gives their own unique driving experience.by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
What happens when the A/C is on along with the auto shutoff? Does the A/C and fan turn off? Or, is the auto shutoff overridden? Just curious.by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
Pretty nasty looking. I did mine about 3 years ago (at ~82K miles). It didn't look that bad.by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum

dramatic before and after the CEL. Every time I came to a stop the idle stayed at ~1100 rpm. After a few seconds, it slowly dropped down to the the normal idle speed ~850 to 900. The mechanic removed the diagonal brace and long flat brace, as well as part of the exhaust system. I am not sure why. Check out the pics. Tonyby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
The bearing carrier surface was not impacted. The pitting on the inner side of the outer raceway was about 1/2" long of the ~total 6" inside circumference. The process took less time than estimated, so the repair cost was lower. I took the car to work today and about 1 mile from home, I got a CEL. 3 codes: P1126, P1133 and P0343. The wheel bearing process included a removal of part of the cat anby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
$10 ea. from AutohausAz. Mine did not have clips. I just looked at the rear trunk shocks. There are no clips there either. The connection is a ball and socket joint, just like the cable ends on the cabriolet top mechanism. I used an open end wrench to get the ball out of the socket. It took some force to pop it out. Then a rubber mallet for re-installation. Now the hood flies up and stays up reby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
This may be old news. But it was new to me. It was filmed in Australia. The culprit stole the car and tried to evade police. He did a pretty good job for a while. Squeezing between cars and high speed evasion. Then he mishandled a turn and crunched the front. Once that occurred, if you look closely you could see coolant running out of the front radiator. And then the passenger side front tire goby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
The noise is getting louder than when previously reported. I still have not had it checked out by a mechanic. I would like to get a better grip on what the problem could be. I temporarily swapped my rear wheels to my original 17" and drove on local streets and at freeway speeds. The noise still exists. I thought it could be tire noise. I am going to get the 18" tires re-balanced anyway. I can bby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
I followed Burg's checklist from top down to "swirl remover by machine". I am not sure how a very mild or mild polish is specified. I was also a bit apprehensive about using any additional abrasives. So, I went to the Meguiars website and read up a bit on the products. Then I called their helpline and learned about the abrasiveness of their different products. I had a bird bomb my car the other day. I believe that I got to it within 30 minutes, but it was hot day and it may have cooked a bit. I dabbed the creation with a wet napkin. When I got home I immediately cleaned the hood then proceeded with hand glaze, then detailer, then prewax cleaner then a wax. But there is an apparent circle (etching of the clear coat?). I did that a few years ago. Mine is also Ocean Blue ('00 S). I have always toyed with the idea of installing a bigger engine (3.4 or 3.6) when the time comes. How else can you get close to super car performance for an additional $20K (+/-)?by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum

Today I safely lifted the 2 rear wheels off the ground. I did not feel any excess play in either the vertical or horizontal axis. I spun each tire as fast as I could in the normal direction of travel and I could not hear any growling. Just normal sounding tire to air friction noises.
